Customized LCDs and LCD panels (glasses)


MELT provides services in design and manufacture of customized LCDs and LCD panels.

Modifications of LCD panels (glasses for LCDs):

  • with different types of chips:TN, HTN, STN, FSTN,BTN;
  • positive or negative display mode;
  • controller can be installed on glass (COG chip on glasses);
  • panels with extended temperature range of -40C to +70C can be manufactured;
  • panels with rigid metal pins (parallel or perpendicular to the LCD panel plane) can be produced with pitches of 0.8 mm to 4.0 mm;
  • flexible printed circuit (FPC) or HEATSEA can be used for connection;
  • panels fitted with pins for conducting rubber can be produced.

Illumination colors for finished LCDs:
  • yellow-green
  • red
  • amber
  • blue
  • white
  • RGB

Technical specifications for the LCD panel or finished LCD display shall contain the following:

1.Drawing (sketch) of the LCD panel or LCD with basic dimensions (in soft or hard form).
2.List of required LCD parameters.

Here is an example of the list of required LCD parameters:


a.Storage temperature: -30C...+80C
b.Operating temperature: -20C...+70C
c.Supply voltage: 5V
d.Control method: 1/2 DUTY, 1/3 BIAS
e.View direction: 6:00 clock.
f.LCD panel type: TN-POSITIVE-REFLECTIVE


Production of the pilot batchof LCD panels(5-10 pcs)starts upon agreement of the technical documentation and making 100% payment for the pilot batch.
The time of production of the pilot batch is 2 months.

The order price for the pilot batch (5-10 pcs) varies from 300 to1000 US dollars (depending on the LCD panel type).

The order price for the pilot batch of COG displays (5-10 pcs) varies from 500 to 2500 US dollars (depending on the LCD panel type).


Production of the serial batchof LCD panels (from 500 sq. in.) starts upon checking of samples from the pilot batch by the customer and making payment for the serial production batch.
You can order of the serial batch without checking the samples, however in this case you take the risk of errors.

The time of production of the serial batch is 2 to 3 months.

The cost of the serial production batch depends on the LCD panel area and varies from 0.1 to 0.2 US dollars per square centimeter (depending on the LCD panel type).
